Dust under the carpet

Dust under the carpet
Various scams and incidents of corruption which have marred the regimes of both the prime parties on the horizon of Indian political scene hint at the deteriorating moral values and character of the persons enjoying power centres. There is not an iota of doubt that the image of these parties have been soiled and stained due to these scams. It is feared that the talks and walks of these scams which have become quite frequent now irrespective of the parties and persons in power should not go to make the hapless masses of our country insulated towards such wrong doings. The sensitization of general public is of utmost importance which keeps the ray of hope ignited. The role of media and other whistle blowers cannot be overlooked and should suitably be applauded in bringing to light various malpractices getting perilously brewed in the system.
It has often been experienced and talked about the immense authority and power enjoyed by these persons in saddle, who often try to use their cult to suppress unearthing of such scams. The bureaucracy in the present set up is so malleable that the party in power can mould it in the way it likes. We tend to agree that the political big wigs in power enjoy immense influence, power and authority at their disposal and have means to influence any investigation and enquiry. But in spite of all this if any scam is allowed to come to the surface or is made to be probed followed by suitable action, this must go to the credit of party in power. The scams and other incidents of corruption are no doubt against the norms and canons of justice and morality but if these malpractices are not allowed to come to surface and are made to hide, thereby secretly nurturing the nefarious designs of the scamsters and their Godfathers, it shall prove to be fatal for the whole system. The way, scams are publicised by the media in our country and political mileage drawn by the opposition very naturally brews the thinking that any scam if unearthed is going to stain the image of the party and person and hence should be made to remain under covers at whatever cost and price.
The political bosses and parties must therefore ensure that these scams do not occur but if at all they have been masterminded, they should not hesitate to order thorough enquiry and deep probe so that the system can be cleansed of all such filth. The fear in the political circles that such unearthing may spoil their image would not do any good to the elimination of such ill games. Therefore it is in the interest of the nation as a whole that the role of party even in power, coming forward to uncover the misdeeds of anybody cutting across the party lines should be applauded by the masses.
Media can play a much desired positive role so that parties and persons do not hesitate to bring to light any of the corrupt practices which are harmfully simmering within the system. The masses should also not reach the hasty conclusions. Instead they should analyse and view things objectively and subjectively both. When scams bring bad name to the party in power, the unearthing and bringing them to light followed by suitable action should add to their positives too and due credit for all this must also be given to the party who has borne the brunt of all such things.
The UPA regime which is riddled with the allegations of corruption as many scams got unearthed during their regime had to pay very heavy price despite allowing all such filth to come to surface and penalise the persons responsible for that. Various political leaders of huge status were not spared by the Congress leadership then. Kanimozi, Raja, Kalmadi, Pawan Kumar Bansal were made to resign from their coveted positions when allegations surfaced against them. The disciplined and justified approach calls only for this. The then opposition very strategically exploited the scams to their political advantage. The present Govt. led by PM Modi although claims to be clean but their claims are not supported by their deeds. It is not that the corrupt practices of considerably large magnitude did not surface during this regime; In fact many instances of corruption did figure but all such matters were suitably handled and suppressed in such a way that they do not dent the image propagated. The Sushma Swaraj connection with Lalit Modi was not allowed to get highlighted and was suppressed without any formal enquiry, Jay Shah son of Amit Shah gets his business spurt sixteen thousand times in Modi regime is not enquired into at all and persons bringing to light such instances are made to face the music, The Vyapam scam which resulted into many suicides was not properly scrutinised and no heads were made to roll. The entire scenario was strategically managed in such a way that masses were kept guessing and picture remained hazy. Truth was never allowed to come to fore.  The Banking scam of such large magnitude is being very conveniently shifted to the earlier regime and that also without any logical reasoning and above all the voice of judges of Supreme Court has been brazenly suppressed which echoed because of the corrupt practices getting brewed in judiciary, The Rafale deal which is allegedly stained with certain malpractices is also being deliberately put under the carpet. The demonetization exercise and the resultant deposit of more than expected money in banks was never made to be enquired into and in fact opened new realms of corruption at new platforms. The men in power owe their accountability towards the masses who have voted them to power. The masses need to know each and every thing. The allegations how so ever vague these may be, ask for clear explanation from the ruling benches. Just by controlling media and moulding opinion in the desired shapes through them, suppressing the whistle blowers and adhering to the vendetta politics would not do any good to the image of persons calling the shots.
