No Gains From Blame Games
The blame game with regard to our
relationship with the neighboring country Pakistan continues amidst slightest
glimmer of the hope somewhere and wide splinters of hatred all around. The
countrymen especially our brethren in Kashmir continue to suffer and face the
ordeal while politicians on both sides of the border miss no opportunity to
exploit the situation to their own respective political advantage. Only claims
and counter claims of exposing the nefarious designs and wills of each other
seem to be the sole agenda of today’s breed of politicians. The extremist
forces continue to get strengthened; their striking power getting dangerously
widened threatening the humanity and peace worldwide.
It is quite evident now that
statements made by politicians of reaching the point of ‘No tolerance’, enough
is enough attitude, befitting replies to the country breeding terror nurseries,
the 56 inch chest have all proved to be hollow claims and countrymen on both
sides are completely fed up bearing all such rhetoric claims. Billions of
dollars have to be wastefully spent for such man made disastrous situations and
even a slight ray of hope is yet to be seen and experienced at the end of this
long tunnel of darkness which is lengthening with the passage of time. Still
the hopes very silently and subtly brew in the hearts and minds of common
masses that are eager to see such hopes getting real shape.
The seeds of hatred and animosity
being willfully sown in the minds of countrymen by wrong diplomatic moves of
our politicians to gain political edge over rivals would prove to be the
greatest threat to our internal security and prosperity. The coming days can
witness the dual threat of internal and external insecurity if things are
allowed to move the way they are going at present. Instead of blaming Pakistan
on the slightest of the pretext our Government should strengthen its own
intelligence network, security system, cultural religious and human bondage in
such a way and magnitude that internal strength of our secular system
flourishes to brew and breed the courage, stamina, zeal and required passion to
face and counter these outer challenges.
The recent attacks on our
military bases, Kashmiri youth’s revolting attitude against the Government, an
alarming tilt of Kashmiri people towards Pakistan whose own economic, political
and social system is in shambles certainly go a long way in signaling that all
is not well within our own line of thinking and execution. Dirty politics and
compulsions seem to be hindering the growth and peace process and initiatives
on both sides. The think tank of our country should shed their political hues
and compulsions and come out with concrete plans and policies to erase the
scars of distrust, hatred and dissatisfaction which have appeared or have been
made to appear on the psychological texture of our Kashmiri brethren especially
the youth who are prone to falling prey to the filthy machinations of anti
national forces.
Trying to expose Pakistan on
international platforms and making all out efforts to isolate and marginalize
her at the cost of concentration on our internal cultural bondage and mutual
trust, inclusive growth would not prove fruitful in the rationally desired
manner. Such policies and line of action have proved futile as our past
experiences show. Blaming Pakistan on every tiny pretext to conceal and hide
our own shortcomings in winning the faith and trust of our own people, in
weaving the entire country in strong texture and platform on which secular
forces and inclusive growth flourish has strted looking farcical now.
Asking a country to control the
extremist forces and stop fuelling infiltrations who has also borne the brunt
of terrorism and has grown as a hub of such extremist activities, where elected
Governments play like puppets in the hands of such extremist forces would be
like asking a person held hostage to be brave and revolt to free himself from
the clutches of his abductors.
Bold leadership and decision
making is the need of the hour which is far from being seen in Pakistan
therefore making efforts and thriving on the sole agenda of tackling Pakistan
diplomatically is not going to bring in the desires results in the present
scenario. The only option left with us therefore is to strengthen our own
system and security network so that these forces across the border are not allowed
to move freely. In today’s age of hi tech and most advanced IT tools of
surveillance if any successful effort is made to spread terror and destabilize
the country the working system of our intelligence agencies is very naturally
put under a big question mark which has to be effectively addressed.
Recent visit of our Home Minister
to Pakistan for SAARC meeting has although been much publicized by the ruling
party and media as daring gesture of the Minister in showing real face to Pakistan
and that too on their own soil, can only prove to give them a strong footing
before their political rivals within country but no diplomatic advantage seem
to have been attained through the entire visit. Such meetings are meant to
break ice in the relationship but the happenings in Pakistan and their after
effects have worsened the relationship which is already at their lowest ebb.
Let us concentrate on making our
economic policies and vision clear to achieve targeted results, let employment
and business opportunities flourish to the advantage of Kashmiri people so that
economic prosperity returns and people of Kashmir have to no longer thrive on
the monetary support and cue from Pakistan. Such genuine efforts would
certainly help in bringing back the disillusioned and disenchanted youth of
Kashmir to the mainstream of the country and make them contribute to the
economic, social and cultural growth of our country.
